PRO-ABORTION RALLY DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ALL CONNECTICUT WOMEN

A “Unite Women CT” rally, claiming to represent “all people who respect women,” will be held tomorrow, April 28th, in Bushnell Park. The Family Institute of Connecticut (FIC), the state’s largest and best known pro-life, pro-marriage and family organization, calls upon the media to tell both sides of the story when it comes to women’s issues.

FIC executive director Peter Wolfgang stated, “The ‘Unite Women CT’ rally is really a Rally Against Unborn Women and Religious Freedom. These organizations and speakers, many of them subsidized by our state government, are claiming to speak for all Connecticut’s women on issues of faith and morality. However, the ‘Unite Women Rally’ will not speak for the majority of women that support parental notification for minors seeking abortion. Nor will it speak for the thousands of Connecticut women that oppose the federal HHS-mandate forcing religious organizations to fund procedures they find morally abhorrent. Most importantly, these multi-million dollar organizations do not speak for the thousands of unborn women killed each year in Connecticut for the crime of being unwanted.”

On March 23rd 615 people in Hartford and 200 in New Haven rallied in favor of the unborn and religious liberty. There was a near-total print media blackout regarding these 815 Connecticut citizens, including hundreds of women, who cared enough to take time out of their busy weekday to stand up for life and liberty. Women are now signing FIC’s “Pro-Abortion Groups Don’t Speak for Connecticut’s Women” petition by the hundreds, they are posting their objections to “Unite Women CT” on FIC Blog and they are organizing another pro-life rally for June 8th. We call upon the media to give the same coverage to these efforts that it will undoubtedly give to ‘Unite Women CT.’

The Family Institute of Connecticut is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to creating a family-friendly environment in our state. We are working to encourage and strengthen the family as the foundation of society and to promote sound ethical and moral values in our culture and government. One Response to “PRO-ABORTION RALLY DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ALL CONNECTICUT WOMEN”

  1. […] is reminiscent of the 2012 HHS Mandate protests when 615 trees (people) fell in the forest (downtown Hartford) and, if… It’s ridiculous and shameful but unfortunately not […]
