From today’s Rep-Am:

About 100 people gathered outside Saint Mary’s Hospital on Sunday afternoon in a rally to protest a bill that would force the state’s four Catholic hospitals to make emergency contraception available to rape victims.

The rally, organized by Connecticut Right for Life, was the only one in the state on Sunday. It was a way for Catholics to make thier voices heard against a bill that goes counter to their beliefs.

People of all ages lined Franklin Street, many of them praying aloud. Others, including young children, held signs with slogans like “abortion kills children” and “keep God in our hospitals and our schools.”…

During a service at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday, the Rev. John Bevins read a letter from Archbishop Henry J. Mansell declaring that the legislation goes beyond emergency contraception in demanding that Catholic hospitals “provide for abortion.”

This is wonderful! Will there be any more of these demonstrations? I would think that one on Mother’s Day would be apropot!

Catholic hospitals only want what is best for the mother and the child. Giving a mother a bucket-load of hormones so as to kill her child is NOT my idea of a Happy Mother’s Day!

The Waterbury Republican-American gets all the facts…wrong, as usual.
