Courant on “State of Our Unions”

As long as I’m commenting on series currently running in the Courant I should mention the one they’ve been running on marriage since Valentine’s Day. Given that the paper’s Life section once ran a “how to” guide to adultery on Valentine’s Day, one can understand why we were expecting the worst. Happily, those expectations have not been confirmed. No, the series is not perfect, but it is one of the best, most balanced takes on marriage to be published in the Courant in a very long time. (The three articles in the Sunday paper on how pop culture portrays marriage were particularly good.) The series can be read here.
