FIC is pleased to recommend a conference to be held at Wellspring Church in the Kensington section of Berlin on Jan. 19-21. Below is a message from Wellspring Church Senior Pastor Rick McKinniss.

In our sex-saturated society where everything from toothpaste to automobiles is advertised with sex, where pornography is one click away on our home computers, where confusion over sexual identity abounds we all know that the reality of sexual brokenness also touches the lives of those in the church.  Most know the Scriptural standards of sexual purity and wholeness, but the reality is that many followers of Jesus are ensnared in patterns of sexual sin and dysfunction.  Is there hope and practical help available for those seeking to break free from the pain and shame of these patterns?

Wellspring Church is hosting a conference on Healing Sexual Brokenness through the Father’s Love, January 19-21.  The conference offers hope, help and healing for men and women whose lives have been touched by sexual brokenness in its many dimensions.  David Kyle Foster of “Mastering Life Ministries” and Mark Burlinson of “Shiloh Place Ministries” will resource the conference as speakers, ministering out of their own experiences of sexual brokenness and restoration.  These two men share their journeys with incredible honesty, humility, authenticity and compassion.  Both of their stories of restoration are rooted in powerful transforming encounters with the Father love of God.

This conference will be a great resource for pastors, counselors and ministers and for those who are struggling with some form of sexual brokenness or sin in their own lives.

David Kyle Foster is the author of Sexual Healing: God’s Plan for the Sanctification of Broken Lives.  He speaks from his own experience of deliverance and release from a life as a male prostitute.  David sounds a powerful yet gentle message of hope for the reality of healing and release from sexual confusion and sin.  Mark Burlinson has come from a life dominated by performance orientation and marked by a secret addiction to pornography.  Both men were set free through dramatic encounters with the radical love of Father God followed by daily doses of truth, grace and honesty to allow them to walk out their newfound freedom.  They now are able to minister this freedom to others with incredibly humility, transparency and authenticity. This conference is for both men and women.  It is for any and all who struggle with any aspect of sexual brokenness, sin or dysfunction.  It is also for those who minister to others who struggle with these issues.

There is a special session for pastors to open the conference at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 19th, followed by a fellowship lunch.  All other sessions are open to the public.  No registration is required, but free-will offerings will be taken to cover the costs of the conference.
