AT THE POLLS IN WATERBURY

The atmosphere at Ss. Peter and Paul Church is completely different than what I experienced in Cheshire. Caligiuri, Zoni, Noujaim, Murphy and Johnson people are all getting along fine, sharing each other’s coffee and donuts.

Why the difference? It could be the absence of hardcore Lamont supporters—they seem to inject an extra element of nastiness into what should be, despite our disagreements, a bipartisan celebration of our nation’s greatness.

It could also be that Murphy’s people can afford to be magnanimous. If what I’m seeing on the ground in the 5th Congressional District is at all representative, Nancy Johnson may be in for an unpleasant evening.
