Things are hopping on the campaign trail, which is why the items below won’t get the attention I’d like to give them. But readers of this blog should be caught up on a few recent news items.

If you’re wondering why the Courant isn’t covering the news-worthy events in your churches, neighborhoods and schools, it’s because they need to save their space for the really important stuff…like Hartford’s homosexual demographics:

Gay men, lesbians and bisexuals make up nearly 7 percent of Hartford’s population, the 10th-highest rate among U.S. cities, new government figures show…

Stanback predicted the increasing – and increasingly visible – gay population will provide a boost to her group’s effort to push for same-sex marriage.
Brian Brown, executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut and an opponent of same-sex marriage, disagreed. Although he hadn’t studied the survey, he agreed that the large numbers are not at all surprising.

Rep. Al Adinolfi’s opponent, Phil Brewer, takes umbrage at my Oct. 5th blog noting his anti-Catholicism:

Rather than attempt to refute the logic they resort to false labels.

Ironically—given the quote above—Brewer calls us names and ignores our substantive responses to his attacks on Adinolfi. Twice now we’ve linked to his site so our members can read Brewer’s inanities for themselves. If Brewer is so confident that it us—and not him—that is resorting “to false labels” instead of refuting “logic,” why doesn’t he link to our Oct. 5th post so the voters of his district can decide for themselves?

Speaking of the election, the New Haven Advocate and Fairfield Weekly ran a major hit piece on FIC Action Committee:

The Family Institute will endorse some 50 candidates for election this week—a mix of incumbents and challengers—injecting money, staff and scores of volunteers into their districts.

Sen. Andrew McDonald (Darien, Stamford)—who so badly misrepresents a poll that even the Advocate is forced to correct his numbers—finally admits his support for full same-sex “marriage” in the article. No word yet on when he will inform his own constituents.
