Living in Fairfield County or other state locations that are not close to our Hartford office would be no impediment.

Below is the formal job description. If you support our cause and you think the position may be right for you, apply to be a part of FIC’s growing organization!

FIC Community Liaison and Volunteer Coordinator Job Description

The FIC Community Liaison and Volunteer Coordinator (CLVC) is responsible for a number of administrative and process-related tasks including providing resources to parents and supporters, equipping district coordinators, church liaisons and volunteers and the management of events and special projects.

The CLVC will distribute and make available FIC materials on key issues such as family time, abstinence education, and parental awareness of sexual education in our schools to parents and supporters throughout the state.  The CLVC will create a network of district coordinators (DCs) and church liaisons (CLs) to organize and manage our volunteers. This includes reviewing applications for DC and CL, checking references, interviewing applicants and maintaining a volunteer handbook. The CLVC will divide the state into several districts, be familiar with each district and maintain an up-to-date database of volunteers geared to the district system.

The CLVC will assist DCs with recruiting needs, resource needs and training needs. He or she will meet with DCs, district teams and churches as needed to help recruit, train and encourage the growth of the network. He or she will follow up with CL’s in the districts where we have no DC and check in regularly to encourage them.

The CLVC will send district-targeted e-mails to recruit more volunteers and DCs. He or she will send a pre-drafted “Monday e-mail” every other Monday. He or she will travel around the state to meet with church and other pro-family organizations as part of his or her efforts to recruit and organize an active base of grassroots volunteers.

The CLVC will help create a “How to” packet-a polished packet explaining how to get involved for our volunteers. The CLVC will conduct “On the Road” events throughout the year as needed, including a Pastor’s Summit. These events will include the distribution of materials that the CLVC will help to fine-tune and maintain. The events will be opportunities for networking and activism.

The CLVC will be responsible for special projects especially geared toward education and activism. This will include being FIC’s liaison with like-minded organizations (Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council, the Leadership Institute, etc.) and overseeing the implementation of strategy and the distribution of materials.
