fathersday

It’s official. Kids need their dads; having two moms just doesn’t cut it. The social science is catching up to what we knew all along.

Family Institute of Connecticut is proud to have led the fight in our state to let every child have the chance to grow up with both a mom and a dad. Protecting traditional marriage is a battle we won every year at the legislature and, even after the State Supreme Court enacted same-sex “marriage,” we secured the strongest religious liberty protections in the nation.

The battle goes on. Parental rights must be protected in this darkened new Connecticut forced us on by the Court and the right of every child to be raised by both mom and dad must be restored.

We wish all the FIC dads a Happy Father’s Day. Let us remember on this day that we were right, that dads matter and that the fight will continue.

What about Connecticut’s “no fault” divorce law? Should it be changed, to make it more difficult for families to be broken up?

Yes. I testified before a legislative Fatherhood task force, that FIC helped to create, in support of modifying CT’s no-fault divorce law.
