FIC will be celebrating the National Day of Prayer at First Cathedral on the evening of Thursday, May 3rd and we hope you will join us. Details courtesy of our friend Bill Brown:

A National Day of Prayer Gathering will be held at the First Cathedral May 3rd, Thursday, 6 – 8 p.m.   Christian Historian and Author, Bill Federer, will address attendants on how past presidents have led America to turn to God in times of National Crisis. Peter Wofgang, Executive Director of the Family Institute of Connecticut, will address Family and Freedom of Religion concerns in our State.  A  time of prayer will follow.   This is probably the most important National Day of Prayer which has been held in many years.

Bill is right about the importance of prayer this year, given the grave threat to our religious liberty caused by the Obama Administration’s mandate that faith institutions pay for abortion drugs. Bill Federer will continue on to Milford City Hall on Friday and Saturday to speak on the subject of Threats to Our Constitution and Freedom of Religion. Click here for info on his Milford talk.

We hope to see all of you at First Cathedral on May 3rd!

Yes this is A VERY URGENT TIME OF NEEDED PRAYER FOR CT and AMERICA! similar to when our FIRST CONNECTICUT GOVERNOR, Jonathan Trumbull, Proclaimed a Fast and Day of Prayer on April 19, 1775 beseeching that,

“God would graciously pour out his HOLY SPIRIT on us to bring us to a THOROUGH REPENTANCE and EFFECTUAL REFORMATION that our INIQUITIES may NOT be our RUIN; that He would RESTORE, PRESERVE and SECURE the LIBERTIES of this and all other British American colonies, and make the land a MOUNTAIN OF HOLINESS, and HABITATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOREVER”
(emphasis added). Noted in Bill Federer’s book, Prayers and Presidents.

Our LIBERTIES are once again in Dire need of protection through prayer and civic vigilence, private and public intercession. Thanks for all the work you are doing at the FIC!

There are many National Day of Prayer events schedule for nearly all towns in Connecticut. Maybe you can publish a list of them? If such a list is available?

Answer to WJR: Go to http://nationaldayofprayer.org/

Search for your town in CT. There is a prayer meeting at the Hartford City Hall, 550 Main. St. at Noon on May 3rd. Otherwise I believe every town in CT has one posted on the website.
